In 2009, the City of Chicago re-purchased the building back to create a community Park District facility focused on art, culture, education, and fitness. Renderings of the facility re-design are linked:

Phase I Status
Phase I of the restoration, completed in 2010, focused on restoration of the first floor and addressing general building conditions, including:
- An indoor kids playground with multiplay surface and climbing wall
- Two new community rooms, and day care support facilities
- New Bathrooms and front desk entry area
- Building Inspection, Roof Repairs, and building tuckpointing

PHASE III PLANS
Phase III calls for renovation of 3rd Floor to include additional community and clubroom space, with the possible inclusion of a larger rental / performance facility. Status of the Phase III renovation is yet to be determined, but best guess is sometime in 2013 - 2014. |
