Did you know…
· South Loop’s field house at 18th & Indiana will be undergoing renovations in 2013 to expand access and programming to include all three floors.
· Ping TomMemorial Park’s new field house at 18th & Wentworth will be built out, including parking, sports facilities and a pool.
· The Park District is preparing to take possession and renovate the (currently private) park, Mark Twain at 15th & Indiana.
· PAC meetings are held every 2nd month at the Women’s Park field house.

Park District designer, Bob Foster will join us with a presentation on the field house renovation plans, as well as MarkTwainPark. An update will also be given on Ping Tom by park manager, Michael Hixenbaugh.
Winter Program Registration
Winter registration dates for the Women's Park are coming soon. If you wish to sign up online, be sure you have set up a park district account prior to registering.

Halloween Friendly Trail - Saturday, October 27th
Meet the characters in a live interactive board game, as they follow the trail around the park! Characters from the game will talk with our little visitors and hand out treats! There will also be children's crafts and activities taking place. Costumes are optional.
Children 10 and under welcome. Saturday, October 27th from 11-2pm at Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens, located at 1801 South Indiana, Cost is $10.00 a child. For more information please call 312.328.0821

Parents Night Out is back this Fall 2012
This event gives parents some time to themselves while their children are enjoying an evening of crafts, games and fun. Children 3-8 years old welcome.

SWAP-O-RAMA - successfully held!
The South Loop Parent Committee (SLPC), in partnership with the Park Advisory Council (PAC), held a Swap-o-rama at the field house on Saturday, June 30th. This garage sale style fundraiser featured gently used and donated toys, children's clothing, books, baby items, household items, et cetera. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of a slide for the Chicago Women's Park Fieldhouse (an addition to the existing indoor play structure).
Thank you to everyone who volunteered and all who participated, dropping off tax deductable donations for sale, or coming out and shopping during the Swap-o-rama event!

CAPITAL PLANNING NEWS
According to the Chicago Park District, TIF Funds and TIF Tasked funds that were scheduled to fund phase II and Phase III have not yet been approved or allocated.
However, the Chicago Women's Park & Gardens / Park 550 Advisory Council has still submitted recommendations for Capital Request for 2012 Chicago Park District Capital Plan, for facility and park immediate needs.
As part of the goals and objectives of the Advisory Council to improve the facility and Women's Park, the PAC leadership submitted capital project requests to be considered in the 2012 budget plan and included for future park improvements. See attached letter for more information.
